Exhibition Now was my first mini group exhibition at the start of my year in Fine Art. This is our idea we came up with, we decided to look at a iconic photograph of Lincoln, split it into six shapes then go away and interpret the photo in our own way, such as a painting or collage perhaps.
This year I realised that my passion for art was not being depicted through my graphics. So I wanted to start fresh by transferring my course at university from Graphic Design to Fine Art. Here I start fresh and make a change to my learning and understanding of Fine Arts. Here I go again!
For my poster brief I had to experiment with my given letter 'M' in the typeface Caslon Pro. It was very exciting and I loved experimenting and coming out with these outcomes!
This is my final poster design for St.Brides library of a Caslon Pro typeface exhibition.
I felt this brief went by very quickly but I liked my concept behind my design. looking back at it now I could make a few amendments to make it look better visually.
These pics are of our sculpture we had to make based on Edward Hopper a modernist practitioner. Edward Hopper was born in New York, he was a American painter whose works are landmarks of American realism, his paintings characterized, isolation melancholy and loneliness.
We created our sculpture on him, based 'Time square'. We made 'Time Square' a lonely isolated place. At one side of the sculpture is Hoppers paintings and some of our quotes for his work, and on the other side is a lonely man sat on a bench that represents one of his etchings called 'night in the park'.
We decided to add fairy lights to create an ambiance of time square. The sculpture was hit for us!
