"Hindu
religion does not consist in struggles and attempts to believe a certain
doctrine or dogma, but in realizing not in believing, but in being and
becoming."
Swami

My practice concept consists looking at my religion
Hinduism. To begin with I am focusing on looking at all the gods in my
religion, depicting them and finding out their meanings, who they are and what
control they had. From this my work breaks down into sections, a puzzle piece
of the all the gods.
All the statues that are made of the gods are
illustrative, bright colours and pigments are used to contour opposite skin
colour. Clothing on the statues has authentic patterns and the painted faces
are expressive and compelling. Bright colours display the relationship between
the religion and the gods. In my work I take this approach when painting, using
water colour, inks, acrylic and oil paints to create a similar effect. By doing
so the viewer is able to recognise the paintings and what it relates to.
Religion today is not the same as it used to be many
years ago, by showing separations of the original god as a collage can make the
viewer see my work as a faceted piece of art.
